Kutch has many weavers but the best are found in the village of Bhujodi.
Here the master weavers slowly draw out the long threads of the warp by hand and then use natural dyes to achieve the desired colours, a process that, especially when using indigo, can take a week of dipping and drying repeadedly.
These long warp threads are then laid out on the loom and the horizontal weft is added to give pattern and colour.
This scarf has a silk warp and an organic kala cotton weft giving it a gentle light feel.
