Set of four pink organic Kala cotton table napkins
Set of four pink organic Kala cotton table napkins
These lovely table napkins are hand spun, dyed and woven out of the finest organic Kala cotton by artisans in Kutch, Gujarat, in Northern India.
Kala cotton is indigenous to Kutch and by default organic, as the farmers do not use any pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. It is a purely rain fed crop that has a high tolerance for both disease and pests.
The napkins are the natural cream colour of kala cotton with the pattern added using madder dyed yarn. Madder is a natural red dye that comes from the rubia tinctorum plant.
The napkins are entirely made by hand using only traditional methods and as such there maybe slight variation in colour and size.
The napkins are made large as they will shrink with the 1st wash.
